How to take measurements correctly

It is very important to be accurate and accurate when taking measurements. With remote tailoring, we can only focus on the measurements taken by the customer, it is better to photograph the process of taking measurements - this will allow us to correct the values of inaccurate measurements taken.

To obtain a correct result, the gymnast must be in underwear or tight training clothes. Ideally, if it is a bodysuit that a gymnast puts on under a leotard for competitions.

Measurements are taken close to the body, without overtightening, but also without additional freedom of fitting.

For accurate positioning of several basic measurements, it is necessary to tie an elastic band or any rope at the waist of the gymnast. Without an elastic band at the waist, it will be impossible to correctly take measurements. Be careful, don't neglect it!

Taking measurements step by step:

1.Height. In the construction of a leotard pattern for rhythmic gymnastics, the Height measure is not used. We only need it for reference.

2.Girth. This is the distance that runs from the point of the base of the neck, going down in a straight line, through the legs, going up the back and connecting with the starting point.

1. Growth. In the construction of a leotard pattern for rhythmic gymnastics, the Height measure is not used. We only need it for reference.

3.Chest girth (above the chest). We skip a centimeter along the armpits, place it horizontally. It is desirable that the gymnast be in a bodysuit, which she usually wears under a leotard for performances.

4.Waist. Removed at the waist, where the elastic is tied.

5.Girth of the hips. The measure is taken horizontally along the protruding points

6.Girth of the neck. Removed at the narrowest point of the neck. Attention, it is at the narrowest point that it is often recommended to remove the girth of the neck along the base of the neck, this is not suitable for gymnastics. Based on this measurement, we build the stand of the product, if the measurement is taken at the base of the neck, the stand will puff up.

7.Length back to waist. This is an extremely important measure for building a pattern. Be sure to shoot with an elastic band tied at the waist. The measurement is taken along the spine from the seventh cervical vertebra to the intersection with the elastic at the waist.

8.Double seat height. It is also a very important measure for building a leotard pattern for rhythmic gymnastics. Removed only with an elastic band tied at the waist, without it the measurement will be incorrect. It is measured in the center of the body from the intersection with the elastic in front to the intersection with the elastic in the back, passing a centimeter between the gymnast's legs.

9.Sleeve length. It is measured from the protruding bone on the shoulder (located vertically upwards from the armpit) to the wrist. When measuring, the arm at the elbow does not need to be bent, we work with highly elastic materials, their extensibility compensates for the change in the length of the sleeve when the arm is bent.

10.Shoulder girth (biceps). Measured in the upper third of the arm.

11.Girth of the wrist. It is measured between the protruding point on the wrist and the beginning of the hand.

12.Ankle girth. The measurement is taken at the narrowest point of the ankle.

13.The length of the skirt in front. Measured in the center front from the elastic at the waist to the visually aesthetic end of the skirt (usually 1-2 cm below the bottom of the underpants).

14.The length of the skirt at the back. Measured in the center back from the elastic band to the visually aesthetic end of the skirt at the back (usually it is 1-2 cm below the bottom of the underpants)

15.Length from waist to floor. Measured from the side of the waistband to the floor.

16.Sitting height (sitting). To measure the seat height, the gymnast should preferably be seated on a rigid base and measure the vertical distance from the waist to the chair from the side.
